Hello, I don't play any instruments but my father played the accordion as a young man and we are celebrating his 80th birthday this Saturday. I was hoping to surprise him with an hour or two of an accordionist playing his favorite songs that he used to play as a young man. Mostly World Music and European and some Argentine Tangos.

We are located in Cypress/Houston Texas. Please reach out if anyone knows of an accordionist in the area. Thank you.

I learn from them constantly.

Thanks much to a couple of you who suggested the Bavarian Grill as a place for dinner and live accordion music. I did go there last weekend while in Dallas and I took four of my family with me. We had a fine time, the food was very good and we heard Alan and Manfred giving a nice show. I appreciate the help from you Texas Accordionists. I'm now back in Ohio where we have real winters so I won't be a very active poster on the blog, but I do wish you all the best. Thanks. Jim Kettlewell, Canton,…

I just joined TAN. I came across the sheet music for La Cucaracha posted by Mr. Kott and adapted by Sheila Lee. Is there an explanation for the notation used? Also, are there other traditional Mexican songs or corridos written in Sheila Lee's system? I've been looking for Mexican diatonic sheet…
