Alex Meixner will be at Houston Accordion Performers Studio for 3 workshops Monday April 2 10:30 to 8:30.

The charges are $40 for each workshop or $60 for 2 or more. Current students under age 18 are $20 for session 3.

10:30 - 12:20 - Polka basics - simple stylings - How to play solo and accompaniment in band settings in different Polka styles - including but not limited to- Czech, American-Slovenian, Oberkrainer, German, Polish, and more.

Session #2 - $40

1:00 - 3:00 - Waltz (Schottische & other dances) - simple stylings - Depending on the skill and desire of the participants, Alex will discuss repertoire in a variety of ethnic folk styles, ideas for ornamentation and arranging.

5:30 - 6:00 Dinner - Meet & Greet Alex
6:00 - 7:50 Learn the similarities and differences of the Austrian folk styles and Conjunto styles as they have developed and evolved in Texas and in the Indian rhythms indigenous to Mexico.
