This was a marvelous event. Chris Rybak did a masterful job demonstrating the Roland VR-7x, and Santiago Jimenez, Jr. did an outstanding job of demonstrating the Roland FR-18.

I went particularly to see Santiago, and to see if he would show me a couple of licks from Viva Seguin. He not only showed the licks I wanted to learn, but all of the locations of the various parts of the tune, as well as quite a number of adornos. As a keyboard player, I had some hesitation about trying this, but after a few minutes of work. I felt comfortable with it.

Chris showed us (among other things) how to play Cajun style backup with Jambalaya.

After the event, both of them made themselves available to us to show us various aspects of the instruments. Not only that, Santiago spent some time with the people who wanted to learn to play the bajo sexto, which he also plays quite masterfully.

This was a very worthwhile event. I would give it five stars!
