Chromatic Button Accordions

I play the C system. I have a number of CBA's. My favorite acoustic CBA is a Hohner Morino, made about 1969. It has been professionally refurbished and restored. The sound is quite mellow and the action is very smooth.See More

This group is to let those with this new technology communicate information to those that know how to use this format. Videos can be sent also. A good video to start, would be one of a member giving the into to a standard folk song of their county and then playing it.See More

not THAT Bill Palmer -- his son!

I'm really gratified and excited to see this wonderful web site. Some of you actually knew my father, who was the co-author of the Palmer-Hughes accordion course. I'm not the accordion player he was, but I still love the instrument.

If you are going to the NAA convention in March,. I'll see you there! I plan to become very active with the various accordion groups in the area in the future.

I was a professional musician in this area from roughly 1962 - 1977. My main instrument was the banjo, but I still featured the accordion in the shows I did in various venues. If you remember the groups that played at Shakey's Pizza Parlor, you might have seen me perform at the one in South Houston or the one off I-45 and Crosstimbers.

I was also a professional magician. I worked as Merlin at the Texas Renaissance Festival for 26 years.

I would love to hear from any of you, especially those who knew my dad.

Great News!!!

I finally got "re hitched!" On March 24, 2013, Dr. Julia A. Wagner of Houston, Texas and I tied the knot at the SPJST Lodge 88 in Houston.

Julie is the one on the left. She studied guitar with me about 40 years ago, and she has also taken care of my dogs from time to…

World Accordion Day

Posted on May 10, 2012 at 3:48am 0 Comments

I was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in the World Accordion Day broadcast at Shelia Lee's HAPI studio in Pasadena, Texas. This took place right after the Boni Mauricio diatonic accordion workshop. After the big jam sessions, we went out for dinner, then returned to participate in the international event. The US was given two time slots near the end of the day. Joann Cochran Summers presented her ensemble well and discussed her pedagogy program at the U of Missouri in Kansas…

Our group has been requested to lead a parade into the youth concert a the NAA convention 2013. We did one a few years ago. We are looking for a lead adult accordionist. Shelia Lee recommended you. We need am accordionist preferably with a Roland 7,  that can change the keys as need. Anyone can join us with concert pitch instruments, Bb Trumpets and Eb alto Saxophones.  instruments. Norm will probably. paloy snare drums.;Let me know ASAP so i can publish the music.

We will probably use two book series. The Palmer Hughes book two with the Marines Hymns and the Cassons song. The key made be changed to concert Bb. Essential 2000 series for high school band. Grand Old Flag, and Shelia recommended Deep in the Heart of Texas.

Tjhanks for your interest in young musicians.
